HIT – Highest Impact Thing

A daily question for yourself: What’s the Highest Impact Thing (the HIT) that you should do today to further my long term goals.

Before all of the other little things set in, before we let the time wasters seep into our day, before we invest tasks to avoid doing the difficult thing, or having the hard conversation, or making the decision we’ve been deferring, or completing a part of a project we’ve been working on…before we do any of these other things, what HIT should you be focusing on today?

Specifically, what measurable action would lead you towards that. It is finally calling someone you’ve been avoiding? Is it making that decision to hire (or fire) someone. Is it writing 2,000 words of a writing project you’ve been thinking about, and sending it off to two friends for review? Is it co-writing a song for someone? Is it registering that domain name, finding a developer, and getting the blueprint of a website you’ve been thinking about going?

For bands, creatives, business people, or anyone else, a string of enough HITS can add up to an incredible results. What’s your HIT for today? Now execute on that, and ignore the rest.
