I realized that if I approached things this way, that I would “win along the way” (another way of saying “Grow as you Go.”) Success wouldn’t just be a mystical pot of gold hidden in a mine, or one goal, one objective, or one destination. It would be a system for living that maximized personal health, family heath, relationship health, being useful to others, and from that I had faith good things would come. Of course I”d be diligent and take intelligent risks along the way. And maximize what I’ve been given (click here for my post on personality assessments). But if all else failed, at least at a fundamental level, I”d be a happier person, strive to be the best husband and father I can be, and to have rich and meaningful relationships. If you stop there, that looks pretty damn successful to me.
